Electronic Parking Brake (EPB)

In combination with the Hand Control Unit (HCU), the electronic parking brake carries out functions like activating and deactivating the parking brake during parking. In addition, the system can be used to implement additional safety and convenience functions, such as automatic braking while stopped and when getting out of the vehicle, or automatically releasing the brake when starting. The EPB also allows for proportional use in combination with the service brake.

In 2012, Knorr-Bremse was the first provider on the market to offer the EPB system as an integrated function in Electronic Air Control (EAC). Since 2017, Knorr-Bremse has also offered the EPB system as a stand-alone system.
