The user-friendly in-cab Driver Interface Unit (DIU) provides operators with a clear, intuitive display of axle group weights and total combination mass. Additional functionality includes iMass® system status and trailer lift axle status detections, supporting both operational efficiency and system transparency.

By delivering accurate, real-time mass data, iMass® enables better loading decisions, helps operators remain within legal mass limits, and supports safer, more efficient operations across every journey.

Seamless Integration Across Fleets

iMass® integrates seamlessly into the existing truck and trailer CAN architecture and is fully compatible with TEBS (Trailer Electronic Braking System) G2.2. No additional cabling between truck and trailers is required.

After an initial calibration, the system automatically detects mass data and the trailer Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) via the EBS socket connection.

Compatible with both European and North American vehicles, iMass® supports road trains of up to seven trailers and can be easily retrofitted to existing fleets – making it a practical, future-ready OBM solution for Australian operators of all sizes.

Smart OBM Certified and Industry Recognised

Locally developed in Australia, iMass® is Transport Certification Australia (TCA) Smart OBM Category B approved, allowing operators to meet various permit and local requirements for High Productivity Freight Vehicle (HPFV) schemes.

The system is also recognised by the Australian transport industry, having received both the AFIAA Application of Technology Award and the HVIA Product Innovation Award.

Telematics & Smart OBM Connectivity

iMass® is capable of communicating the obtained data to compatible telematics devices, supporting compliance with Transport Certification Australia (TCA) Smart OBM requirements. This enables data such as mass messages and iMass® system status to be shared with third-party telematics platforms for monitoring, reporting, and regulatory compliance purposes.

System Components

The system comprises a Driver Interface Unit (DIU), an Electronic Control Unit (ECU), pressure sensors and a de­flection or level sensor installed on the truck. On the trailer, it utilises the Knorr-Bremse TEBS (Trailer Electro­nic Braking System) G2.2 in combination with a Knorr-Bremse suspension levelling control system.
