Discover our product portfolio in Brazil

Knorr-Bremse Brazil initially set up a production cell within MWM Motors in 1977. In 1983 it acquired a plant in the region of Santo Amaro, São Paulo.

During all these years, the company went through a period of consolidation until it reached a constant growth.  The growth was so expressive that its manufacturing area of 35,000 m2 in Santo Amaro was no longer enough to hold all its production capacity, so in 2008 it announced the purchase of a plot of land in the city of Itupeva, interior of São Paulo, with a total area of 153,000 m2.

On April 17, 2013, the opening ceremony for Knorr-Bremse new latest-generation plant in Itupeva, Brazil was held in the presence of a large number of customers and business partners. Housed in new buildings covering an area of more than 32,000 square meters of floor space, the development, production and sales facility has increased its capacity by about 30 percent. It efficiently replaces the old factory in São Paulo, while remaining close to several accesses to the country's main highways, about 80 kilometers away from the capital.

The company manufactures its entire product portfolio for the South American commercial vehicle market, including brake control systems, electronic systems (ABS), air supply and treatment systems, brake cylinders, disc and drum brakes, steering systems and dampers.
